Ports of Auckland has received a request from a deep-sea fishing vessel with two Covid-19-infected crew members onboard.
The Spanish-flagged Viking Bay is in limbo off the coast of Taranaki, but the port will not take it. It has now asked Auckland if it can berth there.
Now a second fishing boat wants to dock in New Zealand because crew have flu-like symptoms.
