First home buyers may feel brunt of tighter lending rules

First home buyers may find themselves at the sharp end of further moves to tighten mortgage lending.

The government and the Reserve Bank are having a second go at cooling the runaway housing market.

The central bank is set to lower the amount of lending to low deposit borrowers, and has been given approval to reign in debt to income ratios.
