Covid cases push calls to drop MIQ for vaccinated travellers

There are calls to drop MIQ for some travellers, so space can be given to covid cases who risk falling through the cracks at home.

It comes as a South Auckland GP says anxious Covid-positive patients are waiting up to three days to even hear from authorities, let alone have a health check. For every one person with Covid in MIQ, nine are isolating at home.

The Minister of Health says they were "taken somewhat by surprise" by the number of Covid cases in recent weeks, even though they're in line with estimates. Jordan Bond reports.
