Best known as a vampire, and lately, a goth, actor and comedian Johnny Brugh has been leaving us well amused since his time as one half of comedy duo Sugar and Spice way back in the ‘90s.

A regular screen scene-stealer, Brugh’s numerous film credits include Deacon in What We Do In The Shadows and god Rapu in Thor: Love and Thunder. Next year he’ll appear in the Australian version of hit TV comedy franchise The Office.

He’s a narrator for Uncle Bertie's Botanarium - playing here right now on Culture 101 - and a co-creator and star in 2019 TV sitcom Educators. Earlier this year he returned to the stage as Deacon the Vampire in One Hundred and Ninety Years of Bullshit.

If that weren’t enough roles: Google tells us he was once a fitness trainer and plays bass guitar, guitar and the xylophone.

Brugh’s first short film Proof - which he wrote, produced and directed is premiering as part of the Show Me Shorts film festival. It stars David Fane and Morgana O’Reilly. He also stars in the short Ministry of Jingle
