Palmerston North Mayor on sister city Mihara, Horoshima

75 years ago today the US ended the world war in the Pacific by dropping the first atomic bomb over the Japanese city Hiroshima. Taeko Yoshioka Braid was just 13 years old and at high school just out of Hiroshima when the bomb hit. Here she is in a Voices programme from 2018 describing what she experienced. In March last year Palmerston North's Mayor, Grant Smith, signed an official declaration of partnership with the Japanese city of Mihara, which is in the Hiroshima prefecture. He speaks with Indira.
