Alcohol sponsorship ban facing opposition

Parliament is about to debate a proposal to ban alcohol sponsorship in sports and give local councils the power to control how liquor is sold. The National and Act Parties have indicated they will be block-voting against the member's bill - so its success will depend on Labour's caucus, who are expected to be able to vote according to their conscience.
