Arba'een: A journey of faith

Not many Kiwis may know, but about 30 million people are gathered in Iraq right now for what could be the world's largest annual gathering.

Pilgrims from around the globe are making a symbolic 80km journey on foot from the city of Najaf to Karbala. They're following a centuries old tradition of Shia Islam called the Arba'een pilgrimage.

Our producer Mahvash Ikram talked to a Kiwi pilgrim about her journey.
