Wairoa waiting to see new govt's recovery minister

To Hawke's Bay now, and YET ANOTHER slip closed part of state highway 2 between Napier and Wairoa yesterday, and motorists were left without a detour. The road stayed closed overnight and Waka Kotahi will be assessing it today. Road users are advised to avoid the area. Meanwhile - the new Emergency Management and Recovery Minister Mark Mitchell has visited Gisborne - but there's no sign he'll be dropping into Wairoa just yet. Mayor Craig Little joins us now.
