Mount Maunganui beach allows dogs to run free off-leash all year round, but after a violent collision locals are calling for an off-leash ban during day-time hours. Two months ago Viv Jones was knocked down by a large dog while walking along Mount Maunganui beach and is still nursing broken bones and trauma from the incident. Former All Whites coach John Adshead has been appealing to Tauranga City Council commissioners for 'leashed dog hours' and joins Karyn to explain why he believes the ban is necessary.
