Ihumātao: SOUL wouldn't allow houses to be built under deal

The co-founder of the Ihumātao occupation group says they are unlikely to accept a resolution that includes building houses on the whenua.

A decision could be  imminent on the disputed land and it's understood that a rōpū whakahaere of both central and local government and mana whenua representatives could be established to make any decisions about the land, expected to be acquired under the Housing Act.

The co-founder of the occupation group SOUL, Qiane Matata-Sipu, says they have not signed off on a resolution yet, and they wouldn't accept a deal which requires them to build houses.
