Coromandel environment group ordered to pay court costs

From Midday Report, 12:16 pm on 21 December 2020

A Coromandel environmental group has been ordered to pay almost $80-thousand to the Crown by the High Court.

Coromandel Watchdog of Hauraki sought a judicial review after a consent was granted to Oceana Gold to mine gold in conservation land.

In early September, its application was dismissed, and it has now been ordered to pay $79-thousand in costs to Crown Law and Oceana Gold.

Coromandel Watchdog of Hauraki chairperson, Catherine Delahunty, spoke to Meriana Johnsen.
