Picton ferry terminal upgrade could create 200 new jobs

From Midday Report, 12:17 pm on 7 May 2021

The Minister for the Environment says the multi-million dollar upgrade to the Picton terminal could create 200 jobs for the small South Island town. A consent has been granted for the upgrade which will create room for the two new larger ferries to replace the three ageing ones. Construction is set to get underway by late 2022. The Minister for the Environment David Parker told Meriana Johnsen it's a good time to upgrade the terminal.
