The first investigation into abuse in care of Pacific people in New Zealand has opened with a meaningful welcome in South Auckland.
Over the next two weeks the Royal Commission into Abuse in Care will hear from survivors, witnesses, and experts - on the experiences of Pacific people in both state and faith based care.
RNZ's reporter, Andrew McRae, is at the Fale o Samoa in Mangere.
