AA welcomes 110km/h on NZ's best roads

From Morning Report, 7:23 am on 25 August 2017

The Government has confirmed speed limits on some of the main expressways will be lifted to 110km/h.  The Automobile Association's Barney Irvine says it's a welcome advancement.

Tauranga's Eastern Link and parts of the Waikato Expressway will get the new limits first - while the idea will be considered for other roads.

But it's not an idea that's universally welcomed - road safety charity BRAKE believes the increase will lead to more deaths and injuries.
