Shaw heads to COP23, meets Pope Francis

From Morning Report, 7:42 am on 13 November 2017

Climate Change Minister James Shaw is in Germany this week highlighting the plight of low-lying Pacific nations. The 23rd Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP23) is taking place in Bonn. The conference is being convened under the presidency of Fiji, giving the international meeting a decidedly Pacific feel and focus. Representing New Zealand at the talks are Pacific Peoples Minister Aupito William Sio and Climate Change Minister James Shaw, who together had an audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican on their way to Germany. Mr Shaw joins us from Bonn.
