Nurses 'ignored' by Canterbury DHB over sexual harassment

From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 23 August 2018

A Christchurch nurse is accusing the Canterbury District Health Board of covering up "rampant" sexual harrassment by patients. In the past three years, the DHB has recorded 137 incidents of patients behaving in a sexually abusive manner towards staff. But nurses who have spoken to RNZ say they've laid complaints and management has ignored them. The DHB's chief executive says he is extremely concerned to hear nurses don't feel their concerns have been responded to or treated seriously. RNZ reporter Katie Scotcher has the story.
