Auckland trains disrupted as engineers strike

From Morning Report, 6:41 am on 14 May 2019

Auckland commuters may face disruption this week because of a 30-day strike by train engineers that began this morning. The dispute is with Spanish labour-hire company CAF. The Rail & Maritime Transport Union says CAF is paying its workers 13 percent less than those doing the same or similar work for other companies, such as KiwiRail. Rudd Hughes is an organiser with the union.
