Insurance companies are telling home owners in Wellington they will have to get used to higher premiums.
Wellington's mayor Justin Lester hosted an insurance forum yesterday amid concern from residents over sharply rising bills.
The Insurance Council's chief executive Tim Grafton told the forum prices are going up because people simply haven't been paying enough for such a high level of risk.
