A new UN report says the West's high consumption of meat and dairy produce is fuelling climate change.
One of the report's authors, Lincoln University's Anita Wreford says farmers should take heart that the report recognises livelihoods depend on agriculture production.
But Beef and Lamb New Zealand reject that, saying cutting back on fossil fuels is the single biggest challenge.
