A person had to be freed from a car in downtown Auckland after a shipping container fell in high winds and trapped them inside.
The police say a container blew off a stack on Jellicoe Wharf, at the Ports of Auckland, hitting the side of a car and trapping the person.
Fire and Emergency was called just before 10pm, and managed to free the person within 30 minutes. Boats also came off their moorings in the strong winds.
