'We're saving 1000 people a day from being tied up' - Kelly Savage's mother

A woman whose son died after being tied down in a Japanese psychiatric hospital says the use of physical restraint has dropped nine percent since she's campaigned against it.

Wellington man Kelly Savage was 27 years old when he was hospitalised in Japan in a state of psychosis in 2017. He was tied to a bed by his wrists, waist, and ankles for 10 days - and shortly after died.
