Numbers at kohanga reo dropping by 100 each year

Enrollments at kohanga reo are declining at an alarming rate, dropping by about 100 children per year on average. The Kohanga Reo National Trust says it's still struggling to retain staff, repair buildings, and compete with a range of daycare options available to whanau. Nearly 40 years since the first kohanga reo opened in Aotearoa, it's still taking a lot of aroha and determination to keep the kaupapa alive. Te Aniwa Hurihanganui has the story.
