Employee surveillance software sales spike over lockdown

Sales of employee monitoring software have skyrocketed since the country went into lockdown, with tech companies reporting a 300 percent increase for New Zealand customers.

The software can track what websites employees visit, take screenshots throughout the day, and track productivity through mouse and keyboard movements.

The companies selling it say it's a great way to manage remote staff, but unions are warning such "big brother" activity is counter-productive.
