Some Auckland businesses think a relatively rosy economic report from the government doesn't accurately reflect the dire situation in the central city.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the latest Treasury data indicated that traffic and spending in Auckland had returned to levels experienced in Alert Level 1.
That is not what some businesses are experiencing.
The owner of Marbecks Record Store in Queens Arcade, Roger Marbeck, says the customers just aren't there.
He told RNZ reporter Katie Todd when customers do come into his store they are spending less.
