Covid-19: Wellington Mayor waiting to hear locations of interest

Wellington is on high-alert after a traveller from Sydney, who visited the captial at the weekend, tested positive for Covid-19 on their return to Australia.

Late last night, New South Wales Health issued an alert identifying passengers on two flights between Sydney and Wellington as close contacts. T

he flights were Qantas QF-163, which left Sydney on Friday 18 June and landed in Wellington just after midnight on Saturday 19 June and Air New Zealand NZ-247, which left Wellington on the morning of Monday 21 June.

Any passengers on those flights have been asked to isolate immediately and call healthline for more information.

The Director-General of Health, Ashley Bloomfield, told Morning Report health workers are currently collating any places of interest in Wellington, and those should be released this morning.
