Wellington residents give "Terrible" score for WCC

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 29 June 2022

Wellington residents have had their say in an annual survey to gauge the performance of the city's council - and not all of it is flattering.

The council-run survey - taken in February, during the precarious weeks of the Parliamentary Grounds occupation - found residents thought the capital city is less "lively and attractive" than a year ago, and is more difficult to get around.

Mayor Andy Foster also acknowledged the score on council governance was "terrible".

It's something he said could be justified early in his term but it did not take into account the recent strides made.

Andy Foster spoke to Morning Report.
