Security companies say there is a massive demand for their services and they are struggling to cope in the run up to Christmas.
With hundreds of ramraids in the past year and the festive season just around the corner, some are turning away potential clients because they are so short-staffed.
The industry needs almost 3000 workers, including guards, technicians and monitoring operators.
