Te Papa has launched a book showcasing the history of the New Zealand Wars through 500 taonga from the museum's collection.
The book, Te Ata o Tū The Shadow of Tūmatauenga, will be distributed to schools as part of the new history curriculum.
Around 150 iwi members attended the launch yesterday where many got the opportunity to see the objects first hand inside Te Papa's archives.
