A leading economist says increased spending on infrastructure is needed to cater for this country's rapidly rising population.
The latest Stats NZ figures show a net gain of 5,300 migrants in January - the lowest since October 2022.
And the number arriving over the past year was more than double that of those leaving, both of these figures being the highest on record, provisionally.
