Slash and unused wood could become biofuel in Northland

Northland's unused wood waste left over from felling and processing trees - including slash - could be transformed into biofuel and used for clean energy.

A report from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority shows up to 99 per cent of the power needed for the region's manufacturing sector could come from the waste.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority chief executive Dr Marcos Pelenur spoke to Corin Dann.
