NZ looking for ways to participate in AUKUS briefing shows

New Zealand is looking for "ways to participate" in the controversial AUKUS pact, where work is going on into putting AI into submarine-hunting planes and radar into deep space for military targeting.

The first briefing to the new government about the AUKUS Pillar Two, released under the OIA, shows an intensifying keenness to sign up to a pact it says aligns with "national interests".

The Defence Minister Judith Collins told RNZ there may well be opportunities especially around technology - and quote, "we're exploring all those angles".
