DOC urges extreme care in the outdoors

The Department of Conservation is urging people to respect closures and take extreme care in outdoor areas affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. DoC is currently assessing its tracks and other infrastructure, and has blanket closures in many areas affected by the Cyclone, including much of Hawke's Bay and Tairawhiti. DoC's Director for Heritage and Visitors Andy Roberts outlines the reasons to be cautious.
