The Air New Zealand charter plane to evacuate New Zealanders out of Wuhan is just days away from leaving.

Up to 40 Air New Zealand staff have volunteered to be part of the ten member cabin crew aboard the 300 seat aircraft.

The Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield says those staff will not have to go into quarantine after they return, but exact details of how they are to be protected are still being worked through.
