Auckland has taken a massive hit from Covid 19 and more pain is to come. A report for the business association Heart of the City by independent economists Strateg.Ease suggests a loss of nearly 12,500 jobs in the Auckland CBD alone. The city council's economic development agency, ATEED, estimates nearly $14 million has been lost in major events cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic - with the future of others uncertain.
