Surf Update: Mount Maunganui

Jamie Troughton is the Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service chair and joins Anna to chat about today's conditions and the closure of the beach last night due to 4 metre swells caused by the volcanic eruption in Tonga.

Mount Maunganui Surf Life Saving Club had a busy couple of days, with swells peaking at around 4m yesterday, when they shut the beach due to the twin threats of Cyclone Cody remnants and the Tongan volcano tsunami risks.
