Martin Shaw

Two successful local novels are soon to be published overseas - Pip Adam's The New Animals by the Dorothy Project in the USA, and Kirsten Macdougall's She's a Killer by Gallic Books in the UK. The literary agent who brokered those deals is Martin Shaw who grew up in Christchurch, sold books in Melbourne and now lives and works in Leipzig in Germany. Dan Slevin spoke to him about selling Australian and New Zealand books to the world and he asked him if being a literary agent is one of the best jobs in the world.
