New poll shows majority support MMP

From The Panel, 4:25 pm on 29 November 2017

Emanuel Kalafatelis of Research NZ reveals the results of a new poll on MMP. Nearly half of those surveyed support it.

Almost one-half of respondents (47%) stated they were satisfied with the MMP voting system, but 37% claimed they were dissatisfied.

And in other election related issues, Mr Kalafatelis says that more than half of respondents (56 percent) believed voters should be required to provide appropriate ID at the polling booth, but 40% disagreed.

One-third of respondents (34 percent) stated they would like to see compulsory voting introduced, but 59% disagreed.
