Police have identified a man who woke up from a coma in Wellington Hospital and didn't know who he was.

The man was hit by a vehicle in Newtown on Friday and seriously injured.
He regained consciousness yesterday but could not remember personal details and had no ID.
Police said they have now identified the man, and would like to thank the public for their help.
